Donation from Lukes Lutheran Church & School
Oviedo, Florida - On Friday February 5th, 2016 the St. Luke's Lutheran School in Oviedo, Florida invited Borinqueneers living near the area and the BCGM CNC Representatives to attend a check presentation. This was a combined effort of school administrators, teachers and the hard work of the students. During the previous week of the event Mrs. Kim Tenney and Mrs. Carla Cotto-Ford both teachers, took the initiative to inform other colleagues at the school, who then took the task to educate the students about these men of honor, the students reacted in such a way that the "penny wars" initiative was created and executed. This gesture of charity and commitment from the students, ended with the presentation of a check for a substantial amount... But the love, devotion and care demonstrated by the students at the time of the presentation was as valuable, emotional and fulfilling for the veterans witnessing this presentation.
Sam Rodriguez - CEO of the BCGM CNC stated: "We are eternally grateful to the St. Luke's Family, whom have open their arms and embraced the Borinqueneers as their own during this past year. We look forward to collaborating and showing our appreciation to generosity to this noble cause".
